Collection Title: Summer Resort 2015
Bio
Caroline Cox was born on September 23, 1993 in Holly Springs, North Carolina. She first became interested in fashion when she began playing with Barbies as a young girl. She enjoyed dressing them and putting together their outfits. She even cut their clothing to make the designs on her own. She sewed her first real garment, a green sundress, with the help of her grandmother, a wonderful seamstress, when she was twelve years old. Her interest in fashion became even stronger and was further reinforced at Holly Springs High School, where she was able to take apparel and art classes. During the summer of her junior year, she attended the Summer Textile Exploration Program at NC State and fell in love with the fashion program. Soon after, she became part of the inaugural class of Fashion and Textile Design within the Wilson College of Textiles. She has learned so much throughout her career as a student and is looking forward to using her knowledge in future careers. She has been lucky to intern at Michael Kors and Tory Burch in the most amazing city in the world (besides Raleigh, of course), New York City. Although she does not know what the future will hold, she hopes to work in product design for a well-branded company in New York City.
Collection Description: Her collection is a resort collection for summer 2015. It will be aimed towards young women 20 to 35. The inspiration behind her collection is a combination of geometric tiling, mixing patterns, and Tory Burch’s aesthetic. Her designs will be a summation of simple silhouettes and eye-catching pattern contrast. The creation of each pattern will be developed using CAD software and will be digitally printed on fabric. On the runway, her collection will exude a fun and lively presence, properly representing her target consumer.
