Bio:

Peyton is a first-year graduate student working to achieve her Master of Science in Textiles. When choosing what University to attend, the Wilson College of Textiles was the deciding factor in selecting NC State. During her undergraduate career, she participated in several different organizations, projects, and events. Some of these include, the Threads pre-show, one of six finalists in the Hemline for Hearts competition, and helped create Mrs. Wuf’s costume for the Pack Plaid Project.

Collection Description:

Oh, Darlin’ is inspired from apparel from the 1960s and 1970s, and the collection title is named after the Beetles song “Oh, Darling”. Peyton has always liked the bright colors, fun patterns, and design elements that are often known to be a fashion statement during this time period. Over the summer she found some of her mom’s old dresses and was inspired to remake them with a slight modern twist. She also found some old patterns and jewelry that added to the theme inspiration. For some prints, she was inspired by the fashion designer, Lilly Pulitzer, and how she turned a functional design into an iconic brand. Within each garment are pockets, because Peyton wants her designs to be fun, fashionable, and functional.
