Landin Neuman

Hometown: Raleigh, NC
Collection Title: Deja Blu

Bio:

Landin grew up in Raleigh, NC and has always pursued creativity.  Whether it be through art, music, interior design, or fashion it has been a prevalent part of her life.  She credits her love for anything creative to come from the influence of her mom who is extremely talented in interior design, and has always pushed the importance and love for creativity in the lives of Landin and her sister. Landin has always loved fashion, but in the last couple of years she has also become very passionate about environmental issues and the importance of sustainability.  Knowing that the textiles/fashion industry is one of the world’s leading industries in producing environmental waste she became interested in sustainable fashion.  She knew she wanted to participate in senior studio, but also knew that her line had to somehow incorporate sustainability while also showing her love for creativity and unique designs.

Collection Description:

Landin’s collection, Deja Blu, features up-cycled denim in silhouettes that draw inspiration from the denim of the 70s and 90s.  She loves to work with denim and in order to keep the denim sustainable, she decided to source her fabric through thrifted and donated denim scraps that the Wilson College of Textiles has received.  Her line is creative, unique, fun, and very much a reflection of her love for the 70s and 90s denim looks; it also incorporates her passion for sustainability in the fashion industry.
