Bio
Fred Pierce Jr. is a senior studying Fashion Textile Management with a concentration in Product Development. While fashion has always been his peaking interest of mine, his path to becoming a designer has not been traditional, as he transferred to NC State following the end of his collegiate baseball career. Alongside his passion for fashion, Pierce has an overall passion for the arts, enjoys all forms of artwork, and is a strong advocate for art. He enjoys sewing and making clothes, but he also enjoys all kinds of music, leisure time with his friends, and lifting weights. The Wilson College of Textiles has helped Pierce uncover so much more about himself and as a creator. He has learned to express himself more each day through the art of textiles. Pierce aspires to work in design after graduation, with hopes of joining a product/fashion design team. While Pierce’s fashion journey is truly just beginning, he is eager to continue working and growing as a designer.
Collection Concept

NoMoreNitemares
“NoMoreNitemares,” a collection from Pierce Jr.’s brand Allure, explores themes of elusiveness and etherealness, while mixing grunge and punk aesthetics. The intention is to evoke a sense of mystique, unlike the common fear people feel from nightmarish imagery. During his childhood, Pierce feared many things stemming from imagery he experienced in both his dreams and nightmares. Although fear was a recurring theme in his early life, he was determined not to let it define him. This determination inspired this concept, which began in early high school.
This collection tackles the concept of fear and anxiety by removing the stigma from the imagery and adding his brand’s captivating element. The art is meant to make the observer uncomfortable, but through a drawing from light rather than through a repulsing one. “NoMoreNitemares” is more than a collection; it is a story segment drawn from Fred’s life and experiences with his consciousness. The collection encourages viewers to confront their discomfort, fear, or anxiety and discover beauty within these experiences, transforming and alleviating fear.
