Collection Title: Rangeley

Bio

Kat Charrier is a skilled sewist who loves to dive into projects. Beginning in her mother’s closet using an old sewing machine, Charrier stitched sentimental items for her family and herself. As confidence grew, she would tackle garments for the public eye and eventually start completing custom orders. Throughout her time at the Wilson College of Textiles, Charrier developed a passion for sustainability. With this collection, Charrier has made environmentally conscious choices in her production process to align with her newfound goals of making functional textiles that don’t harm the planet.
Charrier would like to thank Mom, Dad, Kira, Jt, and her family for their constant support and motivation throughout the creation of this collection and the past four years of college.

Collection Concept

Rangeley is a curated collection of outdoor clothing, inspired by the beauty and harsh winters of Rangeley, Maine. Drawing from the hardworking spirit of its residents, this line reflects the town’s deep connection to craftsmanship and tradition. The art of quilting, a hand-driven craft, serves as the foundation for this collection, which merges homemade warmth with industrial design and performance.
Maine’s natural beauty is declining due to climate change. This collection is over 50% sourced from recycled and repurposed materials.
This collection is dedicated to my grandmother, Meme. She always inspired me to chase my dreams, show dedication, and stand behind authentic work. Maine was her home, and even through the coldest of winters, our family always found warmth at Meme and Pepe’s house.
